This ranking was developed three years ago by Structural Engineer to provide the industry with a meaningful ranking concerning human resources issues in the structural engineering industry, as well as to assist firms in their recruiting and retaining activities. Many people in the industry believe it has helped “raise the bar” of firms' workplace practices nationwide. Goupil added, “Firms struggle to attract and retain high quality employees to serve clients and fit within their culture. Having an honor like this will help firms promote that they are an employer of choice.”

An article in the October issue of Structural Engineer provides more information about the ranked firms and the competition in general. The article, along with links to the top 50 firms and the honorable mentions are available online at www.gostructural.com. Firms interested in participating next year can register at www.gostructural.com/bestfirm .htm to be contacted directly when the entry form for the 2007 ranking is available, which will be in January.
